Are you a lender or a broker?

Specialist Hub is a credit broker, not a lender. We’re authorised and regulated by the FCA (registration 676853) and compare options across a wide panel of lenders on your behalf, rather than lending the money ourselves.

No. For an initial enquiry or application, we carry out a soft search, which has no effect on your credit score. A hard search only takes place later, closer to completion, once everything is confirmed.

That’s often exactly when we’re most useful. We regularly place cases involving adverse credit, complex or self-employed income, limited companies, expats and portfolio landlords – situations mainstream lenders often turn down.

No, we do not charge any upfront fees.

It depends on the product – a secured loan can potentially complete in as little as 48 hours, while mortgages and commercial cases usually take longer due to valuation and underwriting.
